Venue: Navy Wings Heritage Centre, RNAS Yeovilton, Ilchester, BA22 8HT / Timing: 17:30-20:30
The Navy Wings Nightshoot is back! This hugely popular event is one of our favourites, as we continue to support the Royal Navy heritage collection. The nightshoot begins at 1730, but you must aim to arrive at the car park at the designated time on the arrival instructions link in your email, because arriving late will prevent access. Pre booked buses will be on hand to ferry ticket holders to the hangar on base at RNAS Yeovilton and return at the end. For this reason, entry has strict conditions and you must be able to provide photographic ID, be over 16 and follow all directions given. Tea, coffee and drinks will be available through the evening at a small cost. We do expect engine runs to take place, however this depends on operational serviceability, and agreement to run at a date closer to the event. At present, we can confirm that Fairey Swordfish W5856, will perform a ground run weather permitting, Westland Wasp XT420 and Westland Lynx Mk8 XZ736 will feature on the line. Confirmations will be added nearer the time, so do keep your eyes on the event page and our social media pages.
Important:
This event is held on MoD property and therefore requires you to provide valid photographic ID or you will not be admitted on base. No access will also be granted without a hi-viz vest/jacket. Entry will be by coach from "Little Yeo car park" (disabled access in convoy). The event will drawdown at 20:30, providing coach travel back to car park from this time.
Check your confirmation email for the link to view the arrival instructions page as you will need to read this.
All orders are subject to a £1.50 booking fee.
